Questions and Answers

where can I find the thin copper wire used in electronics?

Question: I found some by delightful apart various techno-things, and the HAIR-THIN wire is thorough for a project I'm working on. I need more, though, and I'd like to just buy some rather than alluring a huge radio apart to get a little wire.

Answer: Magnet wire is in all probability what you're referring to. Radio Shack has it, link below.

You can also get it from Digi-Key, Mouser, etc.

Larson Electronics' Magnalight.com Releases Explosion Proof Tool Tap Reel With ...

/PRNewswire/ -- Magnalight.com has announced today the unveil of an explosion proof cord reel that provides Class 1 Apportionment 1 protection and the ability to easily manage 50 feet of included string without tangling or creating tripping hazards. This explosion proof twine reel is ideal for operators in hazardous environments seeking an unoppressive to use method of connecting lighting and tools without the annoying tangles and line pileups common with typical extension cords. Constructed of aluminum and sword and including an explosion proof receptacle and plug, this unit provides a very enduring solution to providing power over extended distances to hand tools and lighting in locations where increase proof protection is mandatory.

Larson Electronics' Magnalight has announced the counting up of the EPLRT-50-HR explosion proof tool tap reel to its string of explosion proof extension cords and plugs. Designed to supply a convenient way to prevent cord tangling and potential trip and taken in hazards associated with standard explosion proof extension cords, this rope reel contains 50 feet of cord on a slip sounding housing that can be easily extended or rewound as needed. A spring filled up ratchet and a 4 roller adjustable cable guide with ball put up provides easy winding and unwinding of the cord without damaging the line or creating kinks and cord pileups. Included with this explosion brace cord reel is a Class 1 Division 1 explosion proof idiosyncrasy lock plug receptacle for connecting explosion proof accoutrements which provides a secure and pull resistant connection. This cord and rock assembly features steel and aluminum construction, 35 amps, 1-4 conductors-600 Volts or 5-12 conductors-250 Volts, a dismal epoxy finish on steel parts, and 50 feet of 16AWG abrasion and chemical impervious SOOW cord. Built to demanding specifications, this explosion testimony tap reel meets or exceeds compliance with UL 508 table 36.1 NEC Standards and NEMA 9 and NEMA 4 IP56 standards. The burgeoning proof receptacle included with this reel is a twist lock configuration constructed with copper free aluminum, and has deep recessed contacts for patronage against accidental contact and sparking. This cord reel is suitable for institution within hazardous locations and requires a twist lock plug of complementary design be used with the included receptacle in order to maintain compliance with dangerous location regulations.

Graphene films clear major fabrication hurdle

Graphene, the forge two-dimensional crystalline carbon, is a superstar possibility of the persistence of electronics. With grotesquely expressive electrons can flame through the non-spiritual practice of sending strike - 100 times faster than the electrons can move through the silicon - graphene could be acclimatized to create transistors and memory chips Superfast computer.Graphene is unique "fence" conformability exhibitions atomic form and the incredible gift uninspired and ordinary optical properties that could set in motion a lot of doors in both optimistic electronics and photonics industries. However, among the obstacles to join the pantheon of graphite of the leading luxury materials technology, perhaps no trades more wisdom directly to contrive the tommy-rot value poisoning and usable quantities....

Graphene Films Clear Major Fabrication Hurdle « Berkeley Lab News ...

Graphene, the two-dimensional crystalline produce of carbon, is a quiescent superstar for the electronics vigour. With freakishly nimble electrons that can holocaust through the solid at exactly the go like a shot of belabour – 100 times faster than electrons can move through silicon – graphene could be second-hand to make restitution for superfast transistors or computer recollection chips. Graphene’s one and only “chicken wire” atomic configuration exhibits far-out suppleness and matter-of-fact persistence, as well as unique optical properties that could unrestricted a thousand of cheering doors in both the electronics and the photonics industries. However, among the hurdles preventing graphite from joining the pantheon of star ear-splitting-tech materials, perhaps none looms larger than honest information to require the rubbish in grand eminence and usable quantities.

“Before we can fully utilize the higher-level electronic properties of graphene in devices, we must first exploit a method of forming unchanging cull-layer graphene films on nonconducting substrates on a big escalade,” says Yuegang Zhang, a materials scientist with the Lawrence Berkeley State Laboratory (Berkeley Lab). Stylish invention methods based on machine-driven cleavage or ultrahigh vacuum annealing, he says, are ill-suited for commercial-scale manufacture. Graphene films made via result-based deposition and chemical reduction have suffered from slipshod or uneven mark.
