Can I get over my what's-its-name gluttony in just four weeks and interact with real people in the meantime? The provocation is on.

WEEK ONE

My detox phase will run from Friday lunchtime to Sunday sundown because my job as a writer means I need technology during the week. I put my mobile phone, two laptops and admired sat nav in a box and hide them under the bed.

The first exercise is about “tuning in” and involves me listening to music for 30 minutes.

I have to spotlight on the lyrics and rhythm, which means I can’t be distracted by phone calls or emails. I pick The Beatles’ Snowy Album and lie on the sofa.

I haven’t listened to music while doing nothing for years. It feels liberating.

I start keeping a newsletter. Before bed I write my concerns that I will lose touch with my friends during the detox. It feels peculiar to be writing and my hand hurts after just a few sentences.

The Legal Famed Stephen Timms is the UK's "Man for Digital Britain." He's the guy behind the Digital Briefness Bill, which makes the US DMCA look tangibles by resemblance. Truly, this is some macabre, awful lawmaking.

Here's what appears to be a the world of letters the DigiMini sent to another MP, explaining why the Digital Curtness Bill needs to go send. It reads, in part, "Copyright owners are currently capable to go on-borderline (sic), look for physical to which they check the copyright and relate unauthorised sources for that significant. They can then pursue to download a photocopy of that palpable and in so doing grab poop about the well-spring including the Thinker Holdings (IP) give a speech to ..."

If this write is bona fide (and it seems to be), it means that the guy who's in afflict of Britain's digital time to come thinks...
