At Lotusphere 2012, Polycom announced the integration of its RealPresence video solutions into several IBM trade communication applications.

Through IBM Sametime, Polycom integrates with Connections—IBM's traffic social networking platform—allowing users to fire video directly from the Connections portal. Users can search for contacts, substantiation their presence status, and start typing to directly connect with those contacts through assert or video.

RealPresence also integrates with Lotus Notes. Users can appoint calls to contacts by clicking a check-box for conference call information within the Lotus Notes convergence setup interface. Additionally, users can join a video rendezvous hosted by the Polycom RealPresence platform from anywhere on any computer through a Web browser, making the Sametime patron not required.

Users can directly connect point-to-point with other Sametime users and advertise-standards based video systems, from immersive systems to Polycom RealPresence ambulant software on tablets. Users can also dial into multi-point video meetings undeviatingly from within the Sametime IM clients.
